Airlines start to release new airfares and prices tend to be great. So start looking for cheap airfares for the winter and spring before they get snapped up. 

I like to search with Google Flights, Momondo, Skyscanner and Kayak, but I'll sometimes book directly with the airline to receive the best benefits and for easier modifications.

Hiking in the Mount Hood Wilderness to Ramona Falls

 

This hike is rated as one of the best hikes in Oregon, so I had to check it out. The trail is within the Mount Hood Wilderness Area. It’s a nice gradual uphill hike to a beautiful cascading waterfall known as Ramona Falls. I was just visiting for the day, but there are a number of spots to backcountry camp.

There is a $5 fee for day use parking or the America the Beautiful Pass is also valid. Also, upon entering the wilderness area one must complete a form to register for a backcountry permit. 

This is a popular trail and It can get busy, so try to arrive early if you'd like to avoid the crowds.

I Made A Huge Mistake While Hiking The Eagle Creek Trail

 

I got myself into a bit of a jam while hiking the Eagle Creek Trail to Punchbowl Falls in Oregon. It's a relatively normal hike during which one has the opportunity to see some cool waterfalls. However, I messed up.
